FAQs

What is nature therapy?

You can read about nature therapy here.

what are your qualifications? Can’t anyone just go on a walk in the forest?

I am a qualified guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides (ANFT).

Yes, of course, I highly encourage people to simply walk and enjoy time in nature, be that in the forest or at the beach. But coming on a nature therapy walk is different than a bush walk or an afternoon stroll along the beach.

My training will guide you to deeply immerse into the experience, like a guided walking meditation. I will also be there if you need for emotional well-being during your time on the walk.

How do I find out about upcoming walks?

I list all walks, gatherings and events on my website here, but if you join my newsletter list then I will send an email each month with upcoming walks that you can book into.

What about if it’s raining on the walk day?

When you book into the walk, I will make sure I have your contact details. If the weather is too extreme then I will postpone until another day. Sometimes walking in gentle rain is beautiful, but I don’t want anyone to get sick or the track to be too slippery.

What are your cancellation policies - if I can’t come along?

Sometimes things happen out of our control. I require 24 hours notice and I will re-book you into the next walk.

What do I need to wear or Bring on a nature walk?

Basically dress for your own comfort.

I suggest bringing an extra jacket as it can get cold when in the forest as we are not hiking. Long pants/sleeves are best to repel insects.

Wearing a hat is a good idea, especially if the weather is hot and it can also keep ticks away from your head.

Drinking water and if you need snacks to eat.

If you have allergies make sure you bring your EpiPen and Antihistamines.

Can children and dogs come along too?

As this is a sensory walk and your own inner journey it is best that you make sure you have no distractions. Children and dogs can be a distraction to yourself and the rest of the group. Having said that, I may occasionally hold family walks which will be fun for the whole family to enjoy.
